Resolute Return: Behind The Scenes

Resolute Return is an epic, dark, and aggressive song written in the key of D minor. It contains chords and melodies with a somewhat cinematic feel because of the organic sounds used like strings, brass, and a choir. The choir (both baritone and suprano) as well as the minor mode contribute to the dark vibe. The bass is powerful and deep, paired with some scratchy and slashy sounds that compliment each other throughout the call and response sections of the drops. The genre subcategory it falls under is brostep or dubstep.

I made this song in FL Studio, shocker I'm sure since I used it for most of my other songs. I used several different ambient sound effects to help build the spacial environment. The horns and brass really bring an intensity and size to the song. I particularly enjoy the second drop's flow with the bass and low choir pairing. I also automated the panning for the bass in some sections to make it feel more alive with movement. Inspirations for this song include Ganja White Night and Apashe.

This is the eighth and final song in the overarching story that is Artificial Reality. Or at least the final core song since I added bonus tracks. I will make an animated music video for it in Blender, just like the others. I will use EEVEE again as the render engine set at 24 frames per second (fps).

In the music video, Psidemica has finished facing a series of hardships and grown much stronger. He is now ready to leave the planet he's on and return to his lab to focus efforts on new and now attainable goals. He approaches his spaceship, which was severely damaged during his prior crash landing and manages to launch into the open and mostly empty void of space. When he gets to the lab, he takes his place in the center and opens a screen showing plans and schematics. The camera zooms in very close into his face.
